Any machine vision graduates out there?

The answer of course is no. As Andy Wilson points out in his ramblings of November 1st, 2012, “A new curriculum”) despite the increased specialization of undergraduate programs, it appears that no university yet offers a degree in machine vision.

Yes, you can study image processing and computer vision, but that doesn’t teach how to implement machine vision. I agree with Andy: this is a field that ought to be addressed by universities seeking to equip young people with the skills necessary to make a difference. And given the growth of vision into the agricultural and automotive worlds, it would seem there’s no shortage of demand for such graduates.

Let me know if you agree, (visionmaster05@yahoo.com,) and let me have your thoughts on a possible curriculum. You may even see your name in print!
